Avocado oil ( Persea Gratissima Oil) - controlled organic cultivation

The evergreen avocado tree from the laurel family grows up to 20 meters tall. The trees only bear their first fruits after about 10 years, which develop from small yellow-green flowers. From a botanical point of view, the pear-shaped to round avocado fruit is a berry. Its flesh surrounds a thick, round core, which contains the seeds.

Avocado trees were originally native to the area between Mexico and Peru. The Aztecs used the fruit pulp for skin-smoothing, healing ointments and for growth-promoting hair care. With the Spanish conquerors of the early modern period, the avocado fruits found their way from the subtropical regions of Central America to Europe.

The pits of the avocado contain only about 2% fat, while the flesh contains about 25% fat. In our natural cosmetics, we only use cold-pressed pulp oil, which is rich in active ingredients and has a characteristically pleasant scent. The oil comes from avocado trees that grow in the Kenyan highlands. The trees belong to many small village farmers who work according to organic and fair trade guidelines.

Avocado in skin care

Avocado oil in skin care

Natural, cold-pressed avocado oil is very suitable for the deep care of skin and hair. It has a high content of unsaturated fatty acids, including the anti-inflammatory palmitoleic acid. Avocado oil is rich in essential amino acids, tocopherols (vitamin E), vitamins B, C and D, carotenoids (provitamin A), phytosterols and minerals such as potassium or magnesium. These ingredients act as antioxidants to counteract skin aging. They inhibit inflammation, relieve itching and improve the skin's moisture retention. Avocado oil has a high proportion of lecithins, which are a natural component of every cell membrane. Lecithin acts as a natural emulsifier and strengthens the skin's barrier function. Avocado oil promotes wound healing and makes the skin

smooth. Avocado oil is non-comedogenic, meaning it does not clog pores. The oil is particularly suitable for dry, cracked and flaky skin, but also for impure skin. In hair care, avocado oil is known for its strengthening, shine-giving and growth-promoting properties.
