Although pure, natural essential oils are generally more tolerable, people who are allergic to fragrances and those with sensitive skin are advised to use fragrance-free care products. Products labeled "fragrance-neutral" can still contain fragrances that are intended to mask unpleasant odors. The only way to be sure is to carefully check the ingredients on the label.
The myrto facial care is completely free of fragrances, but retains the natural scent of the contained, cold-pressed organic oils and plant extracts with a high active ingredient content.

Without alcohol
In order to ensure the best possible skin compatibility, we avoid all ingredients that could irritate sensitive skin. Experience has shown that alcohol dries out the skin - even in low concentrations on sensitive skin. Alcohol penetrates the protective barrier layer of the skin and dissolves the structure of the skin's own lipids (fats). Many natural cosmetics companies use the preservative properties of alcohol and use 15% alcohol or more in their recipes to extend the shelf life of their products. Another problem with the use of alcohol is the usual denaturants in cosmetic alcohol - declared on the label as "alcohol denat." These additives are known to be skin irritants and potentially allergenic.

All myrto products do not contain the usual emulsifiers. Emulsifiers - in natural cosmetics mostly based on palm oil - combine water- and oil-containing components of a cream. However, classic emulsifiers have the unpleasant side effect of dissolving and washing out the skin's own protective substances from the top layer of skin. Our innovative emulsifier-free plant fiber concept ensures that the protective skin barrier of the sensitive facial skin is maintained. This allows the skin to bind more moisture and sustainably and also protect itself from harmful external environmental influences. The emulsifier-free myrto plant fiber concept supports the natural balance of skin functions for a smooth, soft and well-nourished complexion without blemishes.

The myrto organic facial care is vegan and complies with all common natural cosmetics certifications such as Natrue, BDIH, Cosmos or Ecocert. We only use natural ingredients. All plant extracts come from controlled organic cultivation or controlled wild collection. All myrto facial care is free of silicones, petroleum derivatives, alcohol, preservatives and fragrances. Like all myrto products, the facial care also bears the Cruelty Free & Vegan seal in accordance with the strict guidelines of PETA, Germany's largest animal rights organization. - Why no synthetic fragrances?: Synthetic fragrances are known for their skin-irritating properties and are often associated with allergies. In a time of increasing skin sensitivity, fragrances are particularly problematic.
- Natural fragrance alternative: myrto does not use essential oils to avoid allergies. The light fragrance of our products comes exclusively from the cold-pressed oils and plant extracts used. These ingredients are unadulterated and contain a high concentration of natural active ingredients that care for and soothe the skin.
Without alcohol - for more moisture and protection
- Why alcohol-free?: Many cosmetic products contain alcohol as a preservative, but alcohol can dry out sensitive skin and weaken the skin's protective barrier function. Especially with sensitive skin, even a low concentration of alcohol can dissolve the skin's own lipids (fats) and thus lead to irritation.
- Protection against irritating denaturants: Since myrto does not use preservative alcohol, irritating denaturants such as “alcohol denat.” are also avoided. These additives are considered to be potentially allergenic and weaken the skin barrier. Instead, myrto relies on alternative preservation strategies that are gentle on the skin.

- Avoidance of traditional preservatives
Preservatives listed in the EU Cosmetics Regulation can be irritating to the skin and cause skin irritation. At myrto, we consciously avoid all controversial additives and rely on gentle alternatives. - Natural Conservation Strategies
Instead of synthetic preservatives, myrto uses a combination of plant-based organic acids such as anisic acid and levulinic acid. These substances have an antimicrobial effect and stabilize the pH value of the skin. For example, levulinic acid, obtained from corn starch, has a skin-clarifying effect and is therefore particularly suitable for impure skin. - Pentylene Glycol
Another naturally derived ingredient to stabilize the products, Pentylene Glycol from sugar cane and GMO-free corn, not only has a preservative effect, but also moisturizing and nourishing properties.
Non-comedogenic ingredients - for clear skin

myrto uses non-comedogenic oils such as jojoba, argan and grape seed oil, which are particularly recommended for impure, oily or combination skin. - Does myrto facial care contain palm oil?
No. Myrto facial care is 100% palm oil free and contains no hormones, microplastics, perfume or other controversial additives. - What can I do if my skin reacts irritated to the care product?
If you have sensitive skin, you may need to get used to it for a short period of time. Start by applying the care products 2-3 times a week before gradually increasing the amount of use. If irritation persists, we recommend that you stop using the care products and contact our team.
- Is myrto facial care safe during pregnancy?
Yes, all myrto facial care products are safe for use during pregnancy and are free from potentially harmful ingredients. - Does my skin need different care in winter than in summer
Yes, at temperatures below 8°C the skin produces less of its own oil. During the cold season, we recommend a richer, moisturizing product to protect the skin from dryness. - Can too much care harm the skin?
Yes, "over-care" can result in spots or redness. For hypersensitive skin, we recommend a minimalist care routine with just a few products that are free of unnecessary additives and support the skin's natural functions.
