myrto has specialized in the production of high-quality, skin-friendly natural cosmetics. All ingredients without exception comply with the various certification seals for organic cosmetics and natural cosmetics. myrto cosmetics contain the highest possible proportion of raw materials from controlled organic cultivation. This means we can process plant oils, extracts and essences without pesticide residues. The proportion of antioxidants, such as vitamins and minerals, is also significantly higher in organically obtained plants than in conventional plants.
The most important active plant substances are the oxidatively effective "secondary plant substances" or antioxidants. They serve the plant as defense and protective substances. The group of polyphenols, for example, protects the cells from oxidative damage, inhibits inflammation, has an antibacterial and antiviral effect. The group of phytosterols, in turn, strengthens the protective skin barrier, counteracts moisture loss in the cells and can relieve itching. The group of carotenoids stimulates the skin's own immune system and improves cell protection. Finally, the group of triterpene alcohols has important anti-aging properties and slows down the breakdown of collagen fibers in the cells.
Effectiveness of myrto natural cosmetics
The effectiveness of myrto natural cosmetics is determined by the specific combination of bioactive ingredients, which is individually tailored to the respective skin type. The individual active ingredients complement each other in an optimal way and create synergistic effects. The myrto plant oils and extracts in the facial care are without exception non-comedogenic and have a skin-like lipid structure. They melt immediately into the skin without leaving a greasy film. Essential unsaturated fatty acids and an extremely high content of antioxidant-effective secondary plant substances strengthen the protective skin barrier, counteract inflammation and intensively promote the regeneration of stressed, cell-damaged or problematic skin.
Jungle of certification seals instead of a uniform standard
There are now more than a dozen different seals for organic or natural cosmetics in Europe, as well as others outside of Europe, all of which are used alongside each other and in competition with each other. There is still no uniform European standard for natural or organic cosmetics, so even critical consumers can hardly find their way through the jungle of different seals. None of the certifications take into account the very different skin compatibility of the ingredients. A typical example of this in organic shampoos is sodium coco-sulfate, which is usually used as the main surfactant in organic shampoos. Although it is of natural origin, it is known to be irritating and drying to the skin. This surfactant complies with all common natural cosmetics certifications.
Our further quality standard in organic cosmetics
Whether an ingredient is more or less suitable for natural or organic cosmetics is determined not only by its natural origin, but also by its skin compatibility. With this in mind, we avoid all ingredients that could irritate sensitive skin in particular. Our ingredients and the environmentally friendly production in our own factory not only meet the different requirements of the individual seals for certified natural or organic cosmetics. In fact, myrto natural cosmetics exceed all the standards of the various certification companies in several important aspects:
- Vegan
All myrto products are vegan. The only exception is currently the organic hair wax with beeswax from organic beekeeping. - Without preservatives
The myrto natural cosmetics facial care is free of preservatives with their unnecessary allergy potential. Instead, we use organic acids, which also have a skin-care effect. - Without alcohol
Alcohol is used especially in natural cosmetics for preservation and as a solvent in the extraction of plant extracts. However, alcohol dries out the skin and weakens the protective skin barrier. Therefore, myrto facial care is 100% alcohol-free. - Highest possible proportion of antioxidants
Our organically sourced vegetable oils are cold-pressed, not refined or deodorized. They therefore contain the highest possible proportion of antioxidants, which are crucial for their long-lasting effectiveness. - CO2 extracts
We use CO2 plant extracts that are extracted using natural carbon dioxide in a complex, particularly gentle and environmentally friendly way. This means that the plants' full active ingredient content is retained without any solvent residues. - Without emulsifiers
All myrto face creams, serums, scalp treatments, deodorants and hair conditioners are free of skin-weakening and drying emulsifiers with their increased allergy potential. Instead, myrto products are held together with fruit and grain fibers without the use of emulsifiers. - Without palm oil
Instead of consistency-giving additives such as fatty alcohols or ester oils from refined palm oil, myrto natural cosmetics use the highest possible proportion of natural organic plant oils and extracts with a full spectrum of effects.
