Our myrto organic shampoos are based exclusively on natural ingredients that come from controlled organic cultivation or controlled wild collection. When selecting and processing, we ensure that all ingredients are 100% vegan and not tested on animals. This corresponds to the standards for natural cosmetics such as Natrue, Cosmos BDIH and Ecocert.

In addition, all of our products carry the “Cruelty Free & Vegan” seal from the animal rights organization PETA. This seal not only guarantees that the products are vegan and cruelty-free, but also that they do not contain any animal by-products - an additional plus point for environmentally conscious consumers.

Many conventional shampoos contain alcohol, which can dry out the hair and scalp. Our myrto organic shampoos deliberately avoid alcoholic ingredients in order to protect the scalp from moisture loss and to strengthen the skin barrier. This is particularly beneficial for dry or sensitive scalps, as the skin is calmed and no longer produces excessive sebum to compensate for the drying effect of alcohol.

Detergent amino acids – the mildest and most skin-friendly surfactants

A special feature of our myrto organic shampoos are the washing-active amino acids as the main surfactants. These gentle but thoroughly cleansing substances are obtained from sugar, coconut oil and plant-based amino acids. They are quickly and completely biodegradable. Amino acid surfactants are extremely skin-friendly and, in contrast to conventional surfactants such as SLS or SLES, only produce a small, more stable foam.

This ensures gentle cleansing without damaging the scalp's lipid barrier. This preserves the skin's natural moisture balance and gives the hair more elasticity, volume and vitality with each wash.

The high concentration of these amino acid surfactants also supports a long-term improvement in the hair structure. An additional plant-based repair agent makes the hair easier to comb and gives it a natural shine by smoothing the rough hair surface.

Skin-neutral pH value for stabilizing the acid mantle

Our organic shampoos are set to a skin-neutral pH value of around 5.0 to 5.5 - this corresponds to the natural, slightly acidic environment of human skin. Such a pH value strengthens the scalp's acid mantle, which protects it from harmful environmental influences, bacteria and moisture loss.

In contrast, many conventional shampoos or those advertised as "pH neutral" are set at a pH of around 7, which weakens the acid mantle. In the long term, this can lead to a dry and irritated scalp that is more susceptible to damage and moisture loss. Silicone-free for sustainable hair care and environmental friendliness

Our shampoos are completely silicone-free, which is healthier for hair and scalp in the long run. Silicones, which are often used in conventional shampoos to give hair a shiny film, are problematic for several reasons:

Switching to mild, plant-based organic shampoos can take some time for the scalp to get used to. After switching from aggressive surfactants to gentle amino acid surfactants, the scalp may temporarily become more greasy. This is a natural reaction and will regulate itself over time until the scalp has regained its balance.

• Will it damage my hair if I use different myrto organic shampoos at the same time?
  No, it does not damage the hair. If your hair is dry, it can be a good idea to alternate the myrto Sandalwood Organic Shampoo with the Schizandra or Sea Buckthorn Chia Organic Shampoo to broaden and vary the spectrum of active ingredients.
  Our customer Susanne G. writes: "I think the Ultramild Free Shampoo is almost always the right shampoo. Although it is so pure, it leaves my hair manageable and shiny and the scent is pleasantly mild and warm. I like it. Sometimes it has to smell great, then I use the Sea Buckthorn Chia Shampoo, which smells just wonderful. If my hair needs a little more softness, I have wavy and slightly frizzy hair, Schizandra Berry is ideal. The Purifying Shampoo simply makes the hair beautiful (if there are too many care products on the hair) although it is actually not necessary with your good products."
• Are myrto shampoos also suitable for colored hair?
  All myrto organic shampoos contain only extremely gentle cleansing and nourishing ingredients that retain the moisture of the scalp and hair and coat the hair shaft, so that colored hair and sensitive scalps are optimally protected. All myrto shampoos are also ideal for colored hair.
• Are the myrto hair care products also suitable for extensions?
  Myrto hair care is also suitable for real hair extensions. Real hair extensions have the same properties as the keratin fibers of your own hair. Synthetic hair qualities are different. These have a different porosity and - depending on the composition of the polymers/plastics - different sensory and haptic properties. The manufacturer of the synthetic extensions should give product recommendations for hair care.
• When should the myrto shampoo be diluted 1:7?
  Only for very short hair or dry scalps, a 1:7 dilution is recommended - first in an empty shampoo bottle or in a cup. Only use the amount required for a single shampoo wash! Never put water in the glass shampoo bottle because the product will then become contaminated and will no longer be usable. Since the shampoo is extremely mild, you can also use it neat.
