Individual uses of a toner

A facial toner – also known as a facial water, tonic or facial tonic – is a versatile care product that not only completes deep pore cleansing, but also moisturizes, soothes the skin and supports natural acid protection.

Important uses of facial toner

• deep cleansing after the cleanser
  A facial toner removes any remaining makeup and dirt particles that may remain even after thorough cleansing. This leaves your skin cleansed down to the pores.
• preparation for care
  To increase the skin's ability to absorb serums and creams, the toner is applied after cleansing but before the serum. It locks in moisture and creates the optimal basis for subsequent care.
• moisturizer for in between
  A toner can also be used during the day as a refreshing moisture boost, especially for dry or dehydrated skin. Simply spray onto the face as needed to instantly moisturize and freshen the skin.
• aftersun refreshment
  The toner is ideal as a cooling spray after a day in the sun. Place the toner in the fridge beforehand and then spray it directly onto heated skin - this has a particularly pleasant soothing and refreshing effect.

  After shaving, the toner soothes the skin and can be used as an aftershave to make it soft and supple.

Choosing the right facial toner

If you have sensitive skin, it is advisable to choose an alcohol-free toner. Alcohol dries out the skin and can damage the skin barrier, which can lead to irritation and blemishes. A good facial toner should also be fragrance-free to avoid unnecessary irritation.
