The right eye care for wrinkles, bags under the eyes and dark circles
Our eyes reveal a lot about our emotional state: whether we are feeling good, content, sad, depressed or anxious. Even if we suffer from lack of sleep or stress, this is reflected in the eye area. Lack of moisture or external factors such as frequent and extensive sunbathing also leave traces in the form of wrinkles, sagging skin or dark circles or bags under the eyes.
Causes of dark circles, bags under the eyes and wrinkles
-
Allergic reactions and inflammations
to ingredients in eye care products or eye makeup or even allergic conjunctivitis can also lead to dilation of the blood vessels and accumulation of fluid under the eyes. -
Genetic factors
Dark circles and bags under the eyes can be hereditary. Some people naturally have thinner skin and more visible blood vessels in this area, which leads to dark circles. Weak connective tissue under the eyes can also be genetic and promote bags under the eyes. -
skin aging
Natural skin aging also contributes to the formation of dark circles and bags under the eyes. The skin loses elasticity and firmness, which can lead to sagging of the tissue and the formation of puffiness. Reduced collagen and elastin production also makes the skin thinner and the blood vessels more visible, which increases the appearance of dark circles under the eyes. -
environmental factors and lifestyle
Certain environmental factors and lifestyle habits such as excessive sun exposure, smoking, alcohol, stress, an unbalanced diet high in salt and sugar, as well as chronic dehydration can contribute to dark circles and bags under the eyes. - fatigue and lack of sleep
Lack of sleep or poor sleep quality can cause blood vessels to dilate and fluid to accumulate under the eyes, causing dark circles and bags. In addition, chronic fatigue can lead to dull skin and uneven skin tone, which worsens the appearance of dark circles.
Why special care for the eye area?
The first signs of skin aging are usually visible in the eye area. We are often asked whether and why special eye care is necessary at all. Good skin care in the eye area is essential, although special eye care is not absolutely necessary, but is very useful. The thin skin structure and the needs in the sensitive eye area are very different from the needs of the rest of our facial skin.
The skin around the eyes is about four times thinner than the rest of the facial skin. It is particularly sensitive, has hardly any sebaceous glands and therefore dries out much more quickly. Constant facial expressions such as blinking or winking contribute to the rapid appearance of wrinkles and lines around the eyes, which become deeper and deeper over the years. Even if we should be confident about our natural signs of skin aging, we still want to age well and can successfully combat and minimize unsightly wrinkles, bags under the eyes, dark shadows and dark circles with the right eye care.
What characterizes good eye care?
As always, the ingredients are crucial for good eye care. Good eye care has to face many challenges. Above all, it should provide plenty of moisture, but also strengthen the lipid barrier. It should fight free radicals, reduce and plump up wrinkles, inhibit inflammation and, if possible, also fade brown spots caused by hyperpigmentation.
While an eye cream, depending on its consistency and richness, tends to seal the skin, make it appear heavier and not completely absorbed, this is not the case with an eye serum. The myrto eye serums with their concentrated active ingredients nourish and moisturize the skin optimally. They have a light consistency and are suitable for every skin type. The eye serums are absorbed quickly and deeply. They leave the skin feeling soft with a wafer-thin, breathable film that minimizes moisture loss.
The Magnolia Eye Serum with Vitamin C and Caffeine
The new Magnolia eye serum reduces fine lines. It promotes a rosy, even and refreshed appearance of the eye area. The eye serum in the practical roll-on brown glass bottle supplies the skin with powerful active ingredients for an awake and radiantly beautiful eye area.
-
magnolia bark
soothes the skin, inhibits inflammation (inflamm-aging) and ensures an even complexion. -
vitamin C
The vitamin C derivative (ascorbyl glucoside) we use in this eye serum is particularly suitable for sensitive skin. It stimulates the production of skin-tightening collagen, has an antioxidant effect against cell damage and gradually lightens discolorations such as dark pigment spots. -
caffeine
acts as a powerful antioxidant and delays skin aging. Caffeine stimulates blood circulation in the eye area to reduce swelling such as dark circles or bags under the eyes and to decongest the tissue. -
hyaluronic acid
The Magnolia Eye Serum contains - like the Argan Eye Serum - a combination of medium and ultra-low molecular hyaluronic acid with a depot effect. Hyaluronic acid provides the sensitive eye area with long-lasting moisture and protects the skin from drying out.
Our popular classic: The Argan Eye Serum
The Argan Eye Serum with antioxidant-effective, skin-like lipids regenerates the skin's protective lipid barrier. The lipids act as radical scavengers to counteract cell aging and stimulate the formation of collagen fibers. The Argan Eye Serum provides the sensitive eye area with plenty of moisture to prevent dehydration with 0.5% hyaluronic acid. This ensures a gently tightened eye area, fewer visible wrinkles and a refreshed, radiant look.

5 Tips for Your Eye Care
- Use in between: You can use the myrto eye serums in the practical roller applicator not only in the morning and evening, but also apply them under the eyes, above the eyelid and along the eyebrows if necessary.
- High-quality sunglasses: Treat yourself to sunglasses with high UVA/UVB protection. They are an essential protection against premature skin aging in the eye area.
- Touch your eyes carefully: Try not to rub your eyes if you are tired after many hours in front of the screen and your eyes need to relax. Instead, give yourself a break.
- Don't strain your eyes: If your eyes are dry, red or irritated while working on the computer, look outside into the distance or, better yet, take a relaxing walk in nature.
- Avoid nutritional mistakes: Be cautious with salty foods and alcohol, especially in the evening. Salt promotes water retention, alcohol hinders the removal of waste products and promotes lymph congestion. Then you may wake up with puffy eyes the next morning.
Both of our eye serums are of course free from potentially skin-irritating additives such as perfume/fragrances, alcohol, preservatives or skin-weakening emulsifiers.
