Wheat germ proteins are also known as plant keratin or phytokeratin. They consist of hydrolyzed grain germ proteins that are rich in natural vitamin E (tocopherol) and contain a high proportion of the amino acids proline and glutamine. Wheat proteins form a stabilizing, elastic film around the damaged hair surface and fill the cracks in the porous, structurally damaged hair fiber. Wheat germ proteins have a multiple effect:
