How long do myrto products last?

The shelf life of our myrto products is indicated by the best-before date (BBD) on the label. This date refers to storage at room temperature – preferably in a cool, dry place, and away from direct sunlight.

Shelf life after opening

According to the EU Cosmetics Regulation, cosmetic products with a shelf life of more than 30 months carry a symbol depicting an open cream jar and an indication of the shelf life after opening. All myrto products are freshly manufactured in our factory and have a shelf life of at least 10 months upon shipment, often even significantly longer.

For optimal effectiveness of the natural raw materials, we recommend using opened dispensers within six months.

Packaging and protection of products

Most myrto products are packaged in light-protected amber glass bottles. Particularly sensitive creams are packaged in airless dispensers that protect against contamination and leakage.

Signs of expired products

Regularly check your cosmetic products for shelf life. If you notice any noticeable changes in smell, color, or consistency, or if the best-before date has passed, discontinue use.

Influence of temperature and storage

Extreme temperatures can change the consistency of products: High temperatures can affect the stability of ingredients.

Short-term, sharp temperature fluctuations can lead to changes in viscosity and possible separation. However, the quality remains intact—the original consistency can be restored by shaking or cooling.

How should myrto products be stored?

For optimal storage we recommend: A cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight.

Depending on the product, ideal temperatures are between 15 and 25 °C. If a product is not used for an extended period of time, it can be stored in the refrigerator to preserve its valuable ingredients.

Cold and heat during shipping

Short-term exposure to low temperatures, such as those experienced in winter, or higher temperatures in summer do not affect the product's effectiveness or shelf life. If a texture has become firmer due to cold, simply allow the product to acclimatize to room temperature and shake well.
