Astaxanthin

Astaxanthin is one of the most powerful antioxidants. The plant active ingredient is extracted from the green algae Haematoccucus Pluvialis. The carotenoid provides an intense red color. It has powerful skin-protecting and anti-inflammatory properties. Numerous studies confirm that astaxanthin smoothes the skin structure, promotes cell metabolism and can increase the skin's moisture content by up to 40%. This makes the skin more elastic, it looks plumper and small wrinkles are smoothed out. Astaxanthin works against hyperpigmentation and inhibits collagen-degrading enzymes that are activated when you are stressed.

In addition, astaxanthin has UV-blocking properties. It is therefore also recommended for use in sun protection products. Astaxanthin can eliminate several free radicals at the same time and protect against sun-related skin damage such as pigment spots. Astaxanthin also offers natural protection against blue light radiation (digital aging).
