Babassu Oil (Orbignya Oleifera Seed Oil) - Certified organic
Babassu (Orbignya Oleifera Seed Oil) is a palm native to Brazil with about 10 to 12 cm long, nut-like fruit. The unrefined organic babassu oil is golden yellow, smells subtly nutty and is obtained by cold pressing. Babassu oil has a cooling and anti-inflammatory on the skin, absorbs quickly into skin and hair and protects long-lasting protection against moisture loss.
The organic babassu we use comes from a farming cooperative in which families have joined forces in northeastern Brazil. Through this project, the Fairtrade Nutcracker will receive for example a 40% better price for their goods than they would achieve in the local market.
