More than 5,000 years ago, people recognized the special powers of grape seeds. In the wine-growing regions of ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome, not only were the grapes used to make wine, but also the grape seed oil (Vitis Vinifera Seed Oil) from the pomace. With its characteristic nutty-fruity scent, the oil was used as a luxurious skin elixir and to heal small wounds.

How is cold-pressed grape seed oil produced?

Cold-pressed grape seed oil is one of the most valuable oils there is. It is extracted from the hard seeds of grapes at great expense. The yield is low: more than 40 kilograms of grape seeds are needed for one liter of the precious oil. This makes organic grape seed oil one of the most expensive vegetable oils.

In contrast, refined grape seed oil is produced by hot pressing. The high temperatures cause many sensitive nutrients to be lost and chemical solvents are often used. This is why we only use cold-pressed organic grape seed oil in our products, which is particularly rich in valuable antioxidants such as OPC and resveratrol. These are produced in greater quantities when the grape plant has become naturally resistant to stress factors such as pests or diseases.

Linoleic acid – For a strong skin barrier

The oil contains around 90% unsaturated fatty acids, including a high proportion of linoleic acid. This is an essential component of the skin barrier and promotes sebum flow, which relieves impure skin, acne, neurodermatitis or psoriasis.
