shea butter
Shea butter (Butyrospermum Parkii Butter) - controlled organic cultivation
Shea butter (Butyrospermum Parkii) from a fair trade project in Burkina Faso. The shea nuts, also known as the "sacred gift of Africa", are collected by groups of women from the local villages, washed and dried using old traditional techniques. They are then crushed in a mill and a paste is made. This is pressed and filtered several times. The sale of this high-quality shea butter at a fair price is an important source of income for the women of the village. Shea butter has important cosmetic properties:
- contains valuable fatty acids, the skin-protecting vitamins A and E and an exceptionally high proportion of so-called unsaponifiable fatty substances.
- has an anti-inflammatory effect, soothes skin irritations
- supports skin healing through terpene alcohols and phytosterols
- excellent moisturizer
- keeps the skin elastic
- regenerates and revitalizes the skin
- anti-irritant and soothing effect through omega-9 and -6 fatty acids
- rich in vitamin E (tocopherol), which improves skin moisture and prevents wrinkles
