Pentylene Glycol is a natural moisturizer with antimicrobial properties. The natural cosmetic ingredient we use is made from GMO-free corn and sugar cane bagasse. Pentylene Glycol inhibits the growth of microorganisms on the skin and in cosmetics. Pentylene Glycol also has the ability to transport active ingredients deeper into the skin. Chemically speaking, this multifunctional hydrator belongs to the group of dihydric alcohols (diols).

Due to its dual function – moisturizer plus preservation booster – Pentylene Glycol is not a preservative according to the EU Cosmetics Regulation. Therefore, products that do not contain common preservatives (such as parabens) and are preserved with Pentylene Glycol are declared as “preservative-free”.
