frankincense oil
Frankincense oil (Boswellia Sacra) - controlled organic cultivation
The frankincense tree is native to Ethiopia, Somalia, Yemen and Oman. It grows on sandy, dry soils and prefers desert-like climates. Even in ancient times, frankincense was a sought-after raw material for religious and cultic purposes.
The essential oil is extracted from the resin of the tree by steam distillation. Frankincense oil has a clear, fresh scent: initially somewhat camphor-like, later woody-balsamic, becoming increasingly softer. To extract one liter of essential frankincense oil, you need about 80 kg of resin from the tree.
