Introduction / Brief description
Benzoin resin (INCI: Styrax tonkinensis Resin Extract ) is a fragrant natural resin with a long tradition of use in medicine and aromatherapy. It is extracted from the trunk of the benzoin tree, which is native to Southeast Asia. Its extracted resinoid has a warm, vanilla-like, and slightly balsamic scent. The fragrance evokes feelings of comfort and human closeness, which is why benzoin is also considered a "spiritual protective resin."
Origin & Production
The benzoin tree, which can grow up to 20 meters tall, grows wild or cultivated in Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam. To extract the resin, the bark is carefully scratched, causing the resin to slowly ooze and solidify. After collection and drying, the resin is extracted using alcohol to produce an essential resinoid. Our benzoin resin is sourced from certified organic cultivation and processed with exceptional care.
