Why do emulsifiers harm the skin?
Natural cosmetic creams, ointments and lotions usually contain emulsifiers based on esterified vegetable fatty acids. Emulsifiers combine water-soluble and oily components to form a stable emulsion. However, emulsifiers also have undesirable side effects:
-
Washout effect
Emulsifiers continue to emulsify within the skin, deposit there and loosen the protective skin barrier. The dissolved skin lipids in the protective layer are then washed out of the skin upon subsequent contact with water (washout effect). As a result, the skin moisture can be retained less and less. The skin increasingly dries out and is more prone to irritation, itching and redness. -
Weakened immune defense of the skin
Harmful substances and bacteria from outside can penetrate through the porous barrier layer into deeper layers of the skin. As a result, the skin becomes susceptible to blemishes, blackheads, pimples and acne. -
Premature skin aging
Due to the long-term release of the skin's own lipid protective substances and dehydration of the skin, the tissue becomes slack and wrinkles appear early.
What advantages does the myrto plant fiber cosmetics without emulsifiers offer?
All myrto products do not contain such emulsifiers. Instead, purely natural, finely ground fruit fibers made from pectin are used. They hold the oily and aqueous phases of our recipes together like in a grid on the skin (physical instead of chemical bonding). Pectin stabilizes the cream as a purely natural thickener.
Our innovative emulsifier-free skin creams are skin-identical in their structure. These membrane structure creams were specially developed for sensitive and problematic skin. Instead of usual emulsifiers, skin-analogous plant phospholipids (INCI: Hydrogenated phosphatidylcholines) are used, which are part of every human cell membrane and strengthen the skin barrier. In addition, pectin and beta-glucan, as purely natural active ingredients, stabilize the myrto creams, lotions and serums. Pectin from fruit fibers holds together water-soluble and water-soluble parts of the product like in a grid on the skin. This means that there is a purely physical binding instead the otherwise usual chemical bond takes place. Pectin forms a thin, breathable protective film on the skin that improves moisture retention. At the same time, the highly potent natural active ingredient beta-glucan from oats penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin with its protective and healing properties. Beta-glucan has been proven to stimulate the formation of tissue-firming collagen. It binds moisture in the skin intensively and for a long time. Studies show that beta-glucan from oats with a molecular weight of approx. 800 kDa binds approx. 400% more moisture compared to hyaluronic acid of the same molecular size. The moisture is also stored in the skin for significantly longer.
-
All active ingredients are delivered deeply into the skin with their full active content, where they protect the cell tissue from oxidative damage and stimulate the formation of new cells.
-
The plant fibers form a thin, breathable protective film on the skin with a slightly firming skin feeling. They minimize water loss through the skin.
-
Beta-glucan strengthens the protective skin barrier and improves moisture retention in the skin.
-
Environmental pollutants are repelled so that impurities, blackheads and pimples do not even appear (improved immune protection).
Das myrto Pflanzenfaser-Konzept ohne Emulgatoren hat sich vor allem bei Face creams for highly sensitive, mature and sensitive combination skin proven; hrt, as well as for skin problems such as acne, rosacea or neurodermatitis. Skin creams without emulsifiers bring the skin back to its natural balance. They ensure long-term smooth, delicate and pure skin.
