Chamomile is regarded as a queen among medicinal plants and is also fully recognized in its effects by the medical side. The real chamomile (Chamomilla recutita) is a one year old medicinal plant and belongs to the Asteraceae. The yellow basket in the center of the camomile blossom is surrounded by a white ray ring. In contrast to the false chamomile (dog chamomile), the yellow cup is hollow inside and pleasantly aromatic. The chamomile extract from solvent-free CO2 extraction used by us has anti-allergenic, anti-inflammatory and healing properties. It is also used as a remedy for babies. The most important anti-inflammatory and soothing active ingredients are bisabolol and matricine. Chamazulene, which is only contained in the essential oil, is a decomposition product of maternicin, which can have a sensitizing effect, particularly in higher doses. Chamazulen has much weaker anti-inflammatory properties and is not included in the extract we use.
