Ascorbyl Glucoside is a stable connection between vitamin C (ascorbic acid) and grape sugar (glucose). Vitamin C in its pure form is not suitable for skin care, as it is too acidic and irritating to the skin with its low pH value below 4 when used daily. Pure vitamin C is prone to oxidation, so it decomposes quickly and loses its effectiveness. In order to optimize its effectiveness, the ascorbyl glucoside we use is only converted into ascorbic acid in the skin cells.
